Do not try to reach where it's tightly locked. Even if it seems to you that someone very close to your heart (and you to theirs) is behind the door. You are not being unheard. They are consciously not opening the door. Do not offend their ears, do not anger God, who has gifted you a plethora of time, by wasting it. Leave those who are behind the doors, behind the doors.
Seeing ghost signs like this one in Bedford, England... it's always like experiencing a very personal moment of time travel. It's akin to finally redeeming that gift coupon for a tailor-made, just-for-you Doc Brown and Marty ride, free of charge, yet filled with all the emotional extras of touching the past.
If your mobile network provider tells you that your monthly contract is "eligible for upgrade" but then hits you with another just-to-make-sure credit check during checkout, shouldn't they just say "eligible to apply for an upgrade" instead?
I mean, I get that they might need to run an up-to-date credit check. It's their prerogative, and I'm absolutely at peace with that. They might even remind you about the possibility of that extra check before you hit 'place order'.
Still, the point stands. There's a difference between "eligible" and "eligible to apply." Or is it just me being picky?
